Top 5 Saturday: August 29th, 2020

Hello lovelies! Happy Saturday! How is your weekend going so far? What are you reading this weekend?

Top 5 Saturday is hosted by Devouring Books and this week’s prompt is Detective books! I don’t often read detective books so for this week I decided to search out some to add to my TBR! I found lots of books between Goodreads, Book Riot and Google, some are even the basis for some of my favorite shows and I can’t believe I didn’t realize they were based on books! So here are 5 detective series I added to my TBR this week:

Shetland Island by Ann Cleves

I love the BBC series based on these books and I’d love to read them! I also hope I get to visit Shetland one day as well. I’m not sure how true to the books the show is but I’m sure I’ll like them just as well, if not more, than the BBC series.

Maisie Dobbs by Jacquline Winspear

I’ve had this series recommended to me by several people and hear nothing but good things about it. After all, who doesn’t love a female detective with modern sensibilities?

Lady Sherlock by Sherry Thomas

I love Sherlock Holmes retellings and I’m surprised I haven’t heard of this series before! I’m really excited to read these, they seem like the perfect fall read!

The Witchcraft Mystery Series by Juliet Blackwell

This series sounds so fun! Sabrina the teenage witch is a detective and honestly I am here for witchcraft mysteries!

Miss Phryne Fisher Investigates by Kerry Greenwood

I LOVED Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries and the recently released film so I definitely need to read these!

So I just added a TON of books to my TBR. Most of these series are still going and while there are a lot of book covers here, not every book in each series is pictured. So yeah, lots of detective stories to read over the next few…decades.

I hope you guys are having a nice weekend so far!
