This month I’ve been thinking a lot about the types of posts I create for this blog and what kinds of posts give me the opportunity to post consistently, such as Top Ten Tuesday, WWW Wednesday, Top Five Saturday, etc.
I’ve been trying to think of what to post on Monday’s specifically. I’ve seen some ideas hosted by various other bloggers and while they seem fun they’ve never really grabbed me.
Then last night a thought hit me: New Release Tuesday. I know lots of bloggers who post about new releases on Tuesday’s but I thought it might be nice to post about new releases I’m excited for on Monday, in anticipation of Tuesday. Almost like making a shopping list like I’ll be at my bookstore first thing the next day.
Thus, this post was created. I’m not sure how each post will go week to week but (hopefully) every Monday I’ll share 3-5 books I’m excited about!
Where Dreams Descend by Janella Angeles
In a city covered in ice and ruin, a group of magicians face off in a daring game of magical feats to find the next headliner of the Conquering Circus, only to find themselves under the threat of an unseen danger striking behind the scenes.
As each act becomes more and more risky and the number of missing magicians piles up, three are forced to reckon with their secrets before the darkness comes for them next.
The Star: Kallia, a powerful showgirl out to prove she’s the best no matter the cost
The Master: Jack, the enigmatic keeper of the club, and more than one lie told
The Magician: Demarco, the brooding judge with a dark past he can no longer hide
Where Dreams Descend is the startling and romantic first book in Janella Angeles’ debut Kingdom of Cards fantasy duology where magic is both celebrated and feared, and no heart is left unscathed.
I haven’t read anything by Angeles yet but this new dueology sounds intriguing and I’m really looking forward to reading it someday soon!
Now That I’ve Found You by Kristina Forest
Following in the footsteps of her überfamous grandma, eighteen-year-old Evie Jones is poised to be Hollywood’s next big star. That is until a close friend’s betrayal leads to her being blacklisted . . .
Fortunately, Evie knows just the thing to save her floundering career: a public appearance with America’s most beloved actress—her grandma Gigi, aka the Evelyn Conaway. The only problem? Gigi is a recluse who’s been out of the limelight for almost twenty years. Days before Evie plans to present her grandma with an honorary award in front of Hollywood’s elite, Gigi does the unthinkable: she disappears.
With time running out and her comeback on the line, Evie reluctantly enlists the help of the last person to see Gigi before she vanished: Milo Williams, a cute musician Evie isn’t sure she can trust. As Evie and Milo conduct a wild manhunt across New York City, romance and adventure abound while Evie makes some surprising discoveries about her grandma—and herself.
I’ve been hearing so many wonderful things about this book and I’m so excited to read it!
So just 2 books for this week’s post. But then again it is the end of the month. Are you looking forward to reading either of these? Or have you read them already? What did you think?
I hope you guys enjoyed this post! If you’re interested in creating a similar one be sure to let me know! I’d love to read it!
