Hello lovelies and happy Tuesday! How’s everyone’s week going so far?
I’ve been having a pretty good week so far though I haven’t gotten much reading done. But today I discovered the BookSloth App and I really love it so far! It’s a new(ish) app for reading. It’s a lot like Goodreads but more modern and up to date. It still needs some work but the team behind it is very responsive to feedback and they’re constantly making changes, improving performance and fixing bugs. I think this app is going to be a great alternative to Goodreads and you should totally check it out! You can also follow me as well if you’d like! You can find me under Basement_Bookcase. I’d love to follow you as well! If you’ve signed up drop your username in the comments and I’ll give you a follow! I was having trouble searching for users earlier, but BookSloth is working on it and hopefully it’ll be easier to find and follow people soon!

Now then, on to Top Ten Tuesday which is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl! This week’s prompt is Books On Your Summer TBR Pile! This list will be pretty long for me and I’ve broken it up into several categories to try and organize it a little.
All links will take you to the book’s Goodreads page!

NetGalley Summer 2020 TBR
Court of Miracles by Kester Grant
500 Miles From You by Jenny Colgan
The Friend Scheme by Cale Dietrich
I Kissed Alice by Anna Birch
The Marriage Game by Sara Desai
Something To Talk About by Meryl Wilsner
Take Me With You by Tara Altebrando
Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall
I Think I Love You by Auriane Desombre
An Education in Ruin by Alexis Bass
22 Minutes of Unconditional Love by Daphne Merkin
Honestly these should be my summer TBR. Just these. But I’m feeling ambitious and would like to do more than just stay on top of my NetGalley arcs.

So In addition to these I’d also like to read books by more BIPOC authors so I’m adding these 5 to the list:
A Song of Wraiths and Ruin by Roseanne A. Brown
American Street By Ibi Zoboi
A Song Below Water by Bethany C. Morrow
The Black Flamingo by Dean Atta
The Henna Wars by Adiba Jaigirdar

And finally, because we all have work that we need to do I also want to read these 3 non-fiction books about race so I can work on being a better ally:
How To Be An Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi
This Will Be My Undoing by Morgan Jerkins
I’m Still Here: Black Dignity in a World Made For Whiteness by Austin Channing Brown

So 19 books to read between now and the end of August…I think I can do it. Maybe? If I get my reading back on track. I’m really excited to read all of these books and to expand my reading horizons with new-to-me authors, and genres I don’t normally read. I also haven’t read a lot of non-fiction so far this year and I’m looking forward to reading more of it, even if it’ll be hard, but important, work for me.
