Hello lovelies! Happy Friday! Today I’m posting about one of my anticipated reads for 2020: The Princess Will Save You by Sarah Henning!

This one is a retelling of one of my favorite stories: The Princess Bride and I’m very excited to see how Henning reimagines it. Recently Tor Teen released an extended preview and I sat down earlier this week to read it and overall those first 30ish pages were really quite good.
Retellings are some of my favorite stories but they can be hit or miss for me and it often depends on the authors ability to create an original story from the source material.
In those first few pages I think Henning has done an excellent job of setting her story a part from The Princess Bride while pulling elements from the heart of that story.
However, the introduction to this story was a little quick in my opinion. I wanted more backstory about the characters, the setting, etc. But more of that backstory could be told later on so I’m hopeful we’ll get some more detail later on in the book.
If you’re thinking about reading this one but haven’t quite decided yet I’d give the extended preview a quick read. It definitely made me more excited for this book and July 7th can’t come fast enough!
Are you excited to read this one?

I’m also really excited for this one! I have an ARC and I can’t wait to read it. The Princess Bride was so funny though, so I hope it’s filled with humor
