Hello lovelies! It’s been a pretty relaxing weekend for me but I’m really excited because I got a great idea for a series of blog posts thanks to a wonderful friend of mine!
So on Saturday one of my dearests friends and I were catching up with each other and at one point this happened:

After much laughter and explaining to my friend that there are actually museums for books, that are not in fact libraries, I got to thinking…maybe I should write a blog post about those museums.

After graduating high school I went on to earn a Bachelors degree in Art History and last year I graduated with a Masters in Museology aka Museum Studies. I’ve always loved art and museums and I chose these degrees with every intention of working in art museums.
But life doesn’t always work out the way you want it to. So instead of working in an art museum, or any museum, I’m working in my local bookstore. And the longer I stay in my bookstore…the more I wonder if maybe I should have gone down a different path. Should I have gotten a Library and Information Science degree? Or should I have tried to get a foot in the publishing industry? So many things kept me from those paths, but maybe I should’ve been a little braver? It feels too late now but it’s hard not to wonder, “what if?”
Wondering “What if?” isn’t helpful though. Especially right now in the midst of COVID, where what path I picked…or “should” have picked, doesn’t really matter. Museums, libraries and bookstores a like are closed and struggling to get by. And I want to do what I can to support them.
So starting next week I’m going to post about a museum (book related), archive, library or even a bookstore that I really love and share that love with you guys. I’m not sure how often I’ll make these posts, but for now I’m going to try for weekly and see how things go.
If you guys have a bookstore, library, archive or book related museum you love please share it with me! I’d love to learn about it!
