Top 5 Saturday: Books less than 300 pages

Hello lovelies! Today’s Top 5 Saturday prompt is books less than 300 pages!

Top 5 Saturday is a meme hosted by Devouring Pages! For this week I choose 5 books that I’ve enjoyed reading in the past!

*Links will take you to the Goodreads page for each book

1. Her Body and Other Parties by Carmen Maria Machado (248 pages)

33375622

I really enjoyed this short story collection. They were all very unique and otherworldly.  A wonderful Queer read.

2. Blood Water Paint by Joy McCullough (298 pages)

35540804

I LOVED this one. Told in verse form this one explores the life of Artemisia Gentileschi. I love Artemisia; she is one of my favorite artists and I loved learning about her both in school and through this book. McCullough does an amazing job breathing life into Artemisia’s story.

3. The Prince and The Dressmaker by Jen Wang (277 pages)

34506912

This one is so cute and heartwarming! I actually read this one for one of my courses in grad school and I’m so happy I did. Excellent queer representation. Everyone should read this book!

4. City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab (272 pages)

35403058._SY475_

City of Ghosts was a fun read from start to finish. Exactly the kind of book I needed when I was 11 years old. This book will make you want to become a ghost hunter and a world traveler.

5. Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman (299 pages)

30809689._SY475_

I really loved reading Neil’s take on norse myths. He does an amazing job faithfully retelling the myths while making them uniquely his own. A must read for mythology nerds and Marvel movie lovers.
