With my bookstore temporarily closed due to COVID-19 I decided to use my increased amount of free time to restart this blog and to join NetGalley. So at the end of March I signed up, filled out my bio and started requesting books. Fast forward one week and I’d been approved for 25 of the books I’d requested. I didn’t think I’d get approved for so many of my requests but I’m very excited to read and review the titles I’ve been approved for.
The books I requested are mostly Young Adult and Romance (that really surprises me) but there are also a few Fiction and a couple of Non-Fiction books as well. I selected books based on their description and I’m looking forward to reading all of them and learning more about their authors.
Several of the books I requested feature Queer characters and I’m excited to see how these characters are portrayed and developed. I know at least one of the books (Girl Crushed) will be problematic because of it’s portrayal of Bisexual people but as a person who identifies as Bisexual I’m interested to read this one and form my own opinion.
So here’s a list of the NetGalley books I plan on reading over the rest of the year. I’d love to know which of these books you’re excited to read or if you’ve already read them, what your thoughts were!
Links take you to each book’s NetGalley listing.
