Over the last few weeks life for a lot of us has gone from normal to practicing social distancing and then to living in quarantine.
When I was laid off from my job I knew I’d need to find things other than Netflix and Disney+ to keep me going.
But I also wanted to do something productive. So about 2 weeks ago, before all the stores closed, I picked up a bunch of yarn so I could make hats to donate to local shelters in my area later this year.
And a few days ago when the CDC recommended that everyone wear a mask out in public I found a pattern for No Sew Facemasks , washed a bunch of my old tshirts and got to work.
These ‘quarantine crafts’ have kept me busy and they’ve also given me a chance to dive back into audiobooks. So there are 5 audiobook recommendations featuring pandemics to listen to while in quarantine.
Queer bookseller living in the Pacific Northwest. Between dyslexia and ADHD reading hasn't been the easiest of hobbies but books have always been a huge part of my life. I've been a bookseller off and on for 7 years while going to university. After graduating with my Masters in 2019 I went back to my local bookstore for my fifth first day as a bookseller with no intention of leaving. COVID had other plans though and with ample free time I decided to give blogging another go. I'm nervous and excited to be here, but looking forward to where this might lead. Thanks so much for reading!
